Accepted Payment Methods
WA White Goods accepts five convenient payment methods to ensure every customer can complete their purchase with ease and confidence. All payments must be made in Australian Dollars (AUD). Full details of each payment method are provided in the individual sections that follow.
All payments are in Australian Dollars (AUD). We do not accept foreign currency, cryptocurrency, cheques, or money orders. Payment must be received and cleared (or confirmed, for cash on delivery) before goods are dispatched or made available for collection. Each payment method is described in full detail in Sections 03 through 07 of this policy.

Visa & Mastercard
We accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards and debit cards as a fast, secure, and widely used payment option. Card payments are processed in real time through our secure payment gateway at the time you complete your checkout. No additional surcharge is applied to Visa or Mastercard transactions.
Eligible Card Types
- Visa Credit Cards — including standard, gold, platinum, and rewards variants issued by any Australian or international bank.
- Visa Debit Cards — including Visa Debit and prepaid Visa cards, provided sufficient funds are available at the time of checkout.
- Mastercard Credit Cards — including standard, gold, platinum, world, and rewards variants issued by any Australian or international bank.
- Mastercard Debit Cards — including Debit Mastercard and prepaid Mastercard cards, provided sufficient funds are available.
How Card Payments Work
- At checkout, select Visa or Mastercard as your payment method and enter your card number, expiry date, cardholder name, and CVV security code into the secure payment form.
- Your card details are encrypted immediately using SSL technology and transmitted directly to our PCI DSS-compliant payment gateway. WA White Goods does not see, store, or process your raw card data.
- The payment gateway submits an authorisation request to your card issuer (your bank) in real time.
- If your bank authorises the transaction, payment is confirmed immediately and your order is accepted. You will receive an order confirmation email within minutes.
- If your bank declines the transaction, the payment will fail and your order will not be processed. No funds will be charged. See Section 12 for information on failed payments.
3D Secure Authentication
For additional security, card payments on our website may be subject to 3D Secure authentication (also known as Verified by Visa or Mastercard Identity Check). This is an additional verification step where your bank may send you a one-time password (OTP) via SMS or prompt you to authenticate through your bank's mobile app. This step is managed entirely by your bank and is designed to protect you from unauthorised card use.
No Surcharge on Visa & Mastercard: In accordance with the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) surcharging regulations and the Australian Consumer Law, WA White Goods does not impose any surcharge on Visa or Mastercard transactions. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
International Cards
We accept Visa and Mastercard cards issued by international banks, subject to the card's ability to process Australian Dollar (AUD) transactions online. Please note that your bank may apply international transaction fees or currency conversion charges on their end — WA White Goods has no control over and receives no portion of such fees. Please check with your card issuer for details.
American Express
WA White Goods accepts American Express (Amex) credit cards for online purchases. American Express payments are processed securely through our payment gateway in the same manner as Visa and Mastercard. No surcharge is applied to American Express transactions.
Eligible American Express Cards
- American Express personal credit cards — including Green, Gold, Platinum, and Centurion cards.
- American Express business credit cards issued for commercial purchases, where the cardholder is authorised to use the card for online transactions.
- American Express cards issued by Australian and international banks that are linked to the American Express network.
How American Express Payments Work
The process for completing an American Express payment mirrors that of Visa and Mastercard. At checkout, select American Express, enter your 15-digit card number, expiry date, cardholder name, and 4-digit Card Identification Number (CID) printed on the front of your card. Your details are encrypted and processed securely through our PCI DSS-compliant gateway.
American Express CID vs CVV: Unlike Visa and Mastercard which use a 3-digit CVV on the back of the card, American Express uses a 4-digit Card Identification Number (CID) printed on the front of the card above the card number. Please ensure you enter the correct CID when prompted at checkout to avoid a declined transaction.
No Surcharge Policy
Under the Competition and Consumer (Payment Surcharges) Rules 2016 (as administered by the ACCC) and the Reserve Bank of Australia's surcharging framework, businesses are prohibited from charging excessive surcharges on card payments. WA White Goods does not apply any surcharge to American Express transactions. The total displayed at checkout is the final amount charged to your card.
Amex Rewards Points: If your American Express card is linked to an Amex Membership Rewards or similar loyalty programme, eligible purchases from WA White Goods may earn points in accordance with your card's terms. WA White Goods has no involvement in or control over Amex rewards programmes. Please refer directly to American Express for details.
Direct Bank Transfer (EFT)
We accept payment via Direct Bank Transfer (also known as Electronic Funds Transfer or EFT). This method allows you to pay directly from your bank account into our business bank account using internet banking, your bank's mobile app, or in-branch transfer. There is no surcharge for bank transfer payments.
Our Bank Account Details
Security Warning: WA White Goods will never change our bank account details mid-transaction or contact you by phone or email asking you to transfer to a different account. If you receive any communication claiming our bank details have changed, do not transfer funds and contact us immediately on +61 424 260 450. Business email compromise (BEC) fraud is a known risk — always verify account changes through our official channels.
Our bank account details for direct transfer will be displayed on the order confirmation page and in your order confirmation email immediately after you place your order and select bank transfer as your payment method. Please use your Order Number as the payment reference to ensure prompt matching of your payment.
How Direct Bank Transfer Works
- At checkout, select Direct Bank Transfer as your payment method and complete your order. Your order will be placed in a Pending Payment status.
- Our bank account details will be shown on the confirmation page and emailed to you. Note these details carefully.
- Log in to your internet banking, mobile banking app, or visit your bank branch and transfer the exact amount shown on your order confirmation. Use your Order Number as the payment description/reference.
- Funds must reach our account as cleared funds within 48 hours of placing your order. Same-day or Osko/PayID transfers (where available) are encouraged to expedite the process.
- Once we confirm receipt of cleared funds, your order status will be updated to Processing and you will receive a payment confirmation email. Your item will then be prepared for delivery or collection.
Order Hold Period
When you select Direct Bank Transfer, your selected item will be placed on hold for 48 hours from the time of order placement while we await receipt of payment. If cleared funds are not received within this 48-hour window, we reserve the right to cancel your order and make the item available for purchase by other customers. We will contact you by email and/or phone before cancelling any order due to non-payment.
Processing Times: Bank-to-bank transfers within Australia are typically processed overnight, though Osko-enabled PayID transfers may clear within minutes. International wire transfers may take 3–5 business days to clear and are generally not recommended for time-sensitive purchases. Transfer processing times are outside the control of WA White Goods and are determined entirely by your bank and the banking system.
Transfer Reference
Always use your WA White Goods Order Number as the payment reference when making your bank transfer. This is essential for our accounts team to correctly match your payment to your order. Transfers received without an identifiable reference may be delayed. If you have made a transfer and believe there is an issue with matching, please contact us at [email protected] with your order number and proof of transfer (bank receipt).
Cash on Delivery
WA White Goods offers a Cash on Delivery (COD) payment option for customers within our delivery zone who prefer to pay in cash at the time their appliance is delivered. This option is available exclusively for delivery orders — it is not applicable to in-store pickup orders, where payment must be completed before or at the time of collection.
How Cash on Delivery Works
- At checkout, select Cash on Delivery as your payment method and complete your order. No payment is taken online at this stage.
- Our team will contact you to confirm your delivery date and time window. Your order will be tentatively scheduled pending this confirmation.
- On the day of delivery, our delivery team will arrive within the agreed time window. Please ensure you or an authorised adult (18+) is present to accept delivery and make payment.
- Please have the exact cash amount ready at the time of delivery. While our delivery team will endeavour to carry some change, we strongly recommend having the precise amount to avoid any inconvenience.
- Upon receipt of cash payment, our delivery team will provide you with a written receipt. The appliance will be placed in your chosen location and the delivery completed.
Important COD Conditions
- Cash on Delivery is available within the Perth metropolitan area and selected regional zones served by our delivery team. Please confirm COD availability for your location at checkout or by contacting us prior to ordering.
- Payment must be made in Australian Dollars (AUD) cash only. We do not accept foreign currency, card payments, or digital wallets at the door.
- If a customer is not present to accept delivery and make payment at the agreed delivery time, the delivery will not be completed. A redelivery fee may apply for a rescheduled delivery attempt.
- If payment is refused or the customer is unable to pay the agreed amount on delivery, WA White Goods reserves the right to repossess the goods and return them to our warehouse. An order cancellation fee may apply in such circumstances.
- Title (legal ownership) of the goods does not pass to the customer until full cash payment has been received by our delivery team.
Please Note: For high-value orders, we reserve the right to decline the Cash on Delivery option or request a partial deposit payment (via card or bank transfer) prior to delivery scheduling. If this applies to your order, we will contact you directly to discuss the available options before processing your delivery.
Receipt of Payment
A written payment receipt will be provided by our delivery team at the time of cash payment. This receipt constitutes proof of purchase and should be retained for your records. If you require a formal GST-compliant tax invoice, please contact us at [email protected] following your delivery and we will issue one promptly.
Afterpay — Buy Now, Pay Later
WA White Goods accepts Afterpay, Australia's leading Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) service, allowing eligible customers to receive their purchase immediately and pay for it in four equal fortnightly instalments at no additional cost from WA White Goods.
How Afterpay Works
- At checkout, select Afterpay as your payment method. You will be redirected to the Afterpay platform to log in to your existing Afterpay account or create a new one.
- Afterpay will assess your eligibility in real time. Approval is subject to Afterpay's own credit assessment and spending limit criteria, which are determined solely by Afterpay.
- If approved, your first instalment (25% of the total order value) is charged to your nominated debit or credit card immediately at the time of purchase.
- The remaining three instalments are automatically charged to your nominated card every two weeks (fortnightly) until the full purchase price is paid.
- Your order is processed and dispatched by WA White Goods as soon as Afterpay confirms payment approval — exactly as it would be for any other payment method.
Afterpay Eligibility Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of Australia to use Afterpay.
- You must have a valid Australian debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express) to link to your Afterpay account.
- Your purchase must fall within your current Afterpay spending limit. Afterpay limits are set and managed entirely by Afterpay based on your account history and assessment criteria.
- Afterpay is available for both new and returning Afterpay customers. New customers may be subject to lower initial spending limits.
No Interest from WA White Goods: WA White Goods does not charge interest or fees on purchases made through Afterpay. However, please be aware that Afterpay may charge late fees if you miss a scheduled instalment payment. These fees are charged by Afterpay directly and are governed entirely by Afterpay's Terms of Service. WA White Goods has no involvement in and receives no portion of any late fees charged by Afterpay.
Afterpay Order Limits
Afterpay transactions are subject to minimum and maximum spending limits as set by Afterpay. If your order value exceeds your Afterpay spending limit, you will need to select an alternative payment method to complete your purchase. WA White Goods cannot override or influence Afterpay's spending limits on your account.
Afterpay and Refunds
If you are entitled to a refund on a purchase made via Afterpay, WA White Goods will initiate the refund through the Afterpay platform. Afterpay will then apply the refund to your account in accordance with their refund process. Depending on the refund amount and your instalment schedule, Afterpay may reduce or cancel remaining instalments, credit your account, or refund amounts already paid to your linked card. The specific refund mechanics are governed by Afterpay's policies.
Afterpay's Terms and Responsible Use
By selecting Afterpay at checkout, you enter into a separate agreement with Afterpay Pty Ltd (ABN 96 167 580 196). WA White Goods strongly encourages you to read and understand Afterpay's full Terms of Service and ensure that Afterpay is a responsible payment choice for your financial situation. For full details, visit www.afterpay.com/en-AU/terms-of-service.
Need Help with Afterpay? For all enquiries relating to your Afterpay account, payment schedule, spending limits, late fees, or account settings, please contact Afterpay directly via the Afterpay app or their help centre at help.afterpay.com. WA White Goods is only able to assist with queries specifically relating to your WA White Goods order.
Currency & Pricing
All prices displayed on the WA White Goods website are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the current rate of 10%, unless explicitly stated otherwise. We do not accept any other currency.
Pricing Principles
- The price displayed on each product listing page is the total price payable for that item, inclusive of GST.
- Delivery fees, where applicable, are calculated separately at checkout based on your delivery address and selected delivery method, and are displayed clearly before you confirm payment.
- The total amount charged to your payment method will not exceed the amount displayed and confirmed at checkout, except in the case of a manifest pricing error (see below).
- Promotional discounts, coupon codes, or special offer prices will be applied and shown in your cart before checkout is finalised.
Pricing Errors
While we take every effort to ensure pricing accuracy, errors may occasionally occur. In the event of a pricing error, we will:
- Contact you as soon as the error is identified, before dispatching your order.
- Offer you the option to proceed with your order at the correct price, or to cancel your order for a full refund.
- Never dispatch goods or charge your account any amount different from what was confirmed at checkout without first obtaining your agreement.
- Reserve the right to decline to honour an order placed at a price that is clearly and significantly below the product's market value due to a system or input error.
Price Lock at Checkout: Once your order has been confirmed and payment processed, the price is locked and will not be changed — except in the case of a genuine pricing error as described above. Price drops or promotional sales that occur after your order has been confirmed do not apply retrospectively to completed orders.
International Customers
If you are purchasing from outside Australia using an international card, your bank or payment provider may apply currency conversion fees or foreign transaction fees. These fees are charged entirely by your financial institution and WA White Goods has no control over and receives no portion of such charges. We strongly recommend checking with your bank regarding any applicable international transaction fees before completing your purchase.
GST & Tax Invoices
Budget Whitegoods Pty Ltd is registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Australia (GST Registration: 86 642 874 995). As required by the A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999 (Cth), GST is applied at 10% to all taxable supplies, and all displayed prices on our website are GST-inclusive.
Tax Invoice Issuance
- A valid GST tax invoice is automatically generated and emailed to your registered email address upon confirmation of every completed order.
- For Cash on Delivery orders, a receipt is provided at the time of delivery, and a formal tax invoice will be emailed to you upon request. Please contact us at [email protected].
- If you require a duplicate or replacement copy of your tax invoice, please contact us with your order number and we will reissue it promptly.
What Your Tax Invoice Will Include
In accordance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements for a valid tax invoice, all invoices issued by WA White Goods will include:
Supplier Details
Our business name (WA White Goods), legal entity (Budget Whitegoods Pty Ltd), and business address.
ABN
Our Australian Business Number: 642 874 995.
Invoice Date
The date the invoice is issued, which corresponds to the order date.
Invoice Number
A unique invoice/order reference number for your records.
Product Description
A clear description of the goods supplied, including the appliance type, brand, and model where applicable.
Total Price & GST
The total amount payable and a clear statement of the GST amount included in the total price.
GST Input Tax Credits: If you are purchasing for business purposes and your business is registered for GST, you may be entitled to claim the GST component of your purchase as an input tax credit in your BAS. Our tax invoice provides all the information required to support this claim. Please consult your accountant or tax adviser regarding your specific entitlements.
GST on Refunds
If a refund is issued for a purchase, the refund amount will include the GST component that was originally charged. A credit tax invoice or adjustment note will be issued in accordance with ATO requirements when a full or partial refund is processed. This document should be retained for your business records if you claimed an input tax credit on the original purchase.
Payment Security
The security of your payment information is of the utmost importance to WA White Goods. We have implemented industry-standard security measures to protect all payment data transmitted through our website and to ensure that your financial information is never compromised.
Our Security Measures
SSL / TLS Encryption
Our website uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) / TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption throughout the checkout process. All data transmitted between your browser and our website — including your personal details and payment information — is encrypted and cannot be intercepted or read by third parties. You can verify this by looking for the padlock icon and "https://" in your browser's address bar when on our site.
PCI DSS Compliance
All card payments on our website are processed through a payment gateway that is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) — the global security standard for organisations that handle payment card information. PCI DSS compliance means that all card data is processed, stored, and transmitted in a secure, audited environment. WA White Goods does not directly handle, store, or have access to your full card number, CVV, or PIN at any point.
No Storage of Card Data
WA White Goods does not store, log, or retain your full payment card details on our servers or systems at any time. Card processing is handled entirely by our PCI DSS-compliant payment gateway provider. The only payment information we retain is the transaction reference number, the payment method type (e.g. Visa), and the last four digits of the card used — sufficient only to identify and reconcile the transaction.
Protect Yourself Online: WA White Goods will never contact you by email, phone, or any other channel to ask for your full card number, CVV, PIN, or online banking password. If you receive any such request claiming to be from us, do not comply and report it to us immediately at [email protected] and to the Australian Cyber Security Centre at www.cyber.gov.au.
Reporting a Security Concern
If you believe your payment information may have been compromised in connection with a transaction on our website, please contact us immediately at [email protected] or +61 424 260 450, and also contact your bank or card issuer directly to report the concern and request a card block or replacement as appropriate.
Payment Timing & Order Confirmation
Understanding exactly when payment is collected and when your order is confirmed helps ensure a smooth and transparent transaction process. The timing of payment depends on the payment method selected and is explained in full below.
Payment Collection Timing by Method
| Payment Method | When Payment Is Collected | Order Confirmation Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Visa / Mastercard | Immediately upon successful card authorisation at checkout. | Order confirmation email sent within minutes of successful payment. |
| American Express | Immediately upon successful card authorisation at checkout. | Order confirmation email sent within minutes of successful payment. |
| Direct Bank Transfer | When cleared funds arrive in our bank account (up to 48 hours). | Confirmation email sent once cleared funds are confirmed. Order placed on 48-hour hold. |
| Cash on Delivery | At the time of delivery, upon physical receipt of cash by our delivery team. | Order scheduled upon mutual agreement of delivery date. Receipt issued at delivery. |
| Afterpay | First instalment (25%) charged immediately at checkout; remaining instalments every 2 weeks. | Order confirmation email sent immediately upon Afterpay approval. |
Order Confirmation Email
Upon successful payment (or payment arrangement for COD and bank transfer), you will receive an Order Confirmation Email at the email address provided during checkout. This email will contain:
- Your unique order number and order reference.
- A summary of the item(s) purchased, including product description and condition.
- The total amount charged, broken down to show the product price, delivery fee (if applicable), and GST.
- Your selected payment method and payment status.
- Your delivery address or pickup details, as applicable.
- Our contact details for any queries.
Not Received a Confirmation Email? If you have not received your order confirmation email within 30 minutes of completing your purchase (or within 10 minutes for card and Afterpay payments), please first check your spam or junk mail folder. If it is not there, contact us at [email protected] with your name and the email address used at checkout, and we will resend your confirmation or investigate any issue with your order.
When Does Title (Ownership) Pass?
Legal title and ownership of goods passes from WA White Goods to you at the point of full payment being received and confirmed — for card and Afterpay orders, this occurs at the time the payment is authorised; for bank transfer orders, at the time cleared funds are confirmed in our account; and for Cash on Delivery orders, at the time cash is physically received by our delivery team at your premises.
Failed & Declined Payments
Occasionally, a payment attempt may fail or be declined. This is a common occurrence caused by a variety of factors — most of which are unrelated to any issue with our website. Understanding what to do if your payment is declined will help you complete your purchase quickly and without frustration.
Common Reasons for Payment Failures
- Insufficient funds: Your card or account does not have enough available credit or balance to cover the purchase amount.
- Card details entered incorrectly: The card number, expiry date, cardholder name, or CVV/CID was entered incorrectly at checkout.
- Card expired: Your card's expiry date has passed. Please use a current, valid card.
- Bank security block: Your bank has declined the transaction as a security precaution, particularly for online or international-origin transactions. This is common with first-time online purchases.
- Daily spending limit reached: Some cards have daily transaction limits that may be exceeded by the purchase amount.
- 3D Secure authentication failed: The additional verification step (OTP or bank app authentication) was not completed successfully.
- Card not enabled for online transactions: Some cards — particularly certain prepaid or international cards — may not be enabled for card-not-present (online) transactions.
- Afterpay limit or eligibility: Your Afterpay account spending limit has been reached, or you do not meet Afterpay's eligibility criteria at this time.
What Happens When a Payment Fails
If your payment is declined or fails to process:
- Your order will not be confirmed or processed. No funds will be charged to your account.
- You will be notified at checkout that the payment was unsuccessful, along with a general reason (where available from the payment gateway).
- The item will remain in your cart (subject to stock availability) so you can attempt payment again with the same or a different payment method.
- If you believe funds have been deducted from your account despite a failed transaction notification, please check with your bank first — in most cases this will be a temporary pre-authorisation hold that is released within 3–5 business days.
Temporary Authorisation Holds: When you submit a card payment, your bank may place a temporary pre-authorisation hold on the funds, even if the transaction ultimately fails. This is a function of the banking system and does not mean WA White Goods has received those funds. Pre-authorisation holds are typically released by your bank within 3–5 business days. If a hold persists beyond this time, please contact your bank directly.
What to Do If Your Payment Is Declined
- Check that your card details (number, expiry date, and CVV/CID) were entered correctly and try again.
- Check with your bank that the card is active, has sufficient funds or credit, and is enabled for online transactions.
- Try a different payment method — for example, switch from card to bank transfer, or try a different card.
- If the problem persists, contact us at [email protected] or +61 424 260 450 and we will do our best to assist you in completing your purchase.
Surcharges & Additional Fees
WA White Goods is committed to transparent pricing. We do not impose payment surcharges on any of our accepted payment methods. The price you see confirmed at checkout is the total amount you will be charged for your product — no hidden fees, no payment method penalties.
Our No-Surcharge Commitment
- Visa & Mastercard: No surcharge. Compliant with RBA surcharging regulations and ACCC enforcement guidelines.
- American Express: No surcharge imposed by WA White Goods on Amex transactions.
- Direct Bank Transfer: No surcharge or transfer processing fee charged by WA White Goods.
- Cash on Delivery: No surcharge for COD orders within our standard delivery zones.
- Afterpay: No surcharge added by WA White Goods. Any fees applicable to your Afterpay account (such as late payment fees) are charged by Afterpay independently.
Australian Law on Surcharges: Under the Competition and Consumer (Payment Surcharges) Rules 2016, enforced by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), businesses are prohibited from charging consumers payment surcharges that exceed the actual cost to the business of accepting that payment method. WA White Goods fully complies with this regulation by applying zero surcharges on all accepted payment methods.
Delivery Fees Are Separate
Please note that while there are no payment surcharges, a delivery fee may apply depending on your location and delivery requirements. Delivery fees are not a payment surcharge — they are a separate charge for the physical service of delivering large appliances to your premises. All applicable delivery fees are displayed transparently at checkout before you confirm your order and complete payment. No delivery fee is hidden or added after checkout.
Third-Party Fees
While WA White Goods does not charge surcharges, some fees may be charged independently by third parties:
- International transaction fees — charged by your bank or card issuer on transactions processed from an Australian merchant, if you are using a foreign card.
- Currency conversion fees — charged by your bank if your card is not denominated in Australian Dollars.
- Afterpay late fees — charged by Afterpay if you miss a scheduled repayment instalment.
- Bank transfer fees — some banks may charge a fee for outbound EFT or BPAY transfers. This is determined by your own bank's fee schedule, not by WA White Goods.
WA White Goods has no control over and receives no portion of any third-party fees listed above. Please review your bank's or payment provider's terms and fee schedules for details.
Fraud Prevention & Verification
WA White Goods employs proactive fraud prevention measures to protect both our customers and our business from fraudulent transactions and unauthorised use of payment methods. Our goal is to ensure that every transaction on our platform is legitimate and secure.
Fraud Detection Measures
- Automated fraud screening: All transactions are automatically screened by our payment gateway's fraud detection algorithms, which assess risk signals including card origin, billing/shipping address mismatches, transaction velocity, and device fingerprinting.
- 3D Secure authentication: Card transactions may require additional authentication from your bank (see Section 03), providing an additional layer of protection against unauthorised card use.
- Order review: Our team manually reviews orders that are flagged as potentially high risk by our payment gateway before processing or dispatching.
- Identity verification: For high-value orders or orders flagged for review, we may contact you to verify your identity and confirm order details before processing.
When We May Request Additional Verification
We may contact you to request additional verification information in the following circumstances:
- The billing address provided does not match the address registered with your card issuer.
- The delivery address is significantly different from the billing address and the order is for a high-value item.
- Multiple orders are placed in a short period from the same account or using the same payment method.
- The transaction is flagged as high risk by our payment gateway's automated fraud screening system.
- We are unable to contact you at the phone number or email address provided at checkout.
We Will Never Ask For Your PIN or Full Password: If we contact you for identity verification, we will only ask for basic order-related information such as your name, order number, email address, and delivery address. We will never ask for your card PIN, online banking password, full card number, or CVV via phone or email. Any such request should be treated as suspicious and reported to us and to the ACCC's Scamwatch at www.scamwatch.gov.au.
Cancellation Due to Suspected Fraud
If we are unable to verify a transaction to our satisfaction, or if a transaction is determined to be fraudulent or in breach of our payment policies, we reserve the right to:
- Cancel the order and issue a full refund of any amounts charged.
- Refuse to process future orders from the same individual, account, or payment method.
- Report the matter to relevant law enforcement authorities or financial crime bodies where appropriate.
Any cancellation on fraud grounds will be communicated to you and any amounts charged will be refunded promptly.
Reporting Suspected Fraud
If you believe your payment details have been used to make an unauthorised purchase on our website, please contact us immediately at [email protected] or +61 424 260 450. You should also report the matter to your bank or card issuer and to the Australian Cyber Security Centre at www.cyber.gov.au.
Refunds & Payment Reversals
WA White Goods processes refunds in accordance with our Refund Policy and the Australian Consumer Law. This section specifically addresses how refunds are returned to your payment method and what to expect in terms of timing and process.
General Refund Principles
- Refunds will always be returned to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. We do not issue refunds to a different card, account, or payment method than the one used for the original transaction.
- Refunds will be issued in Australian Dollars (AUD). If your original payment was made in foreign currency and converted, any refund issued in AUD may differ from the original amount in your currency due to exchange rate fluctuations. WA White Goods is not responsible for exchange rate losses.
- We do not issue refunds in cash for orders originally paid by card, bank transfer, or Afterpay.
Refund Processing Times by Payment Method
| Payment Method | Refund Process | Estimated Time to Receive |
|---|---|---|
| Visa / Mastercard | Refund initiated via payment gateway back to original card. | 3–7 business days (dependent on your bank's processing time). |
| American Express | Refund initiated via payment gateway back to original Amex card. | 3–7 business days (dependent on American Express processing time). |
| Direct Bank Transfer | Refund EFT transferred back to the originating bank account. | 1–3 business days once we process the refund transfer. |
| Cash on Delivery | Refund issued via bank transfer to your nominated bank account, or by cash arrangement at our warehouse. | 1–5 business days, or by arrangement for cash refunds. |
| Afterpay | Refund initiated through Afterpay platform. Afterpay manages distribution to your account/card. | Up to 10 business days as managed by Afterpay. |
Refund Timing Explanation: The processing times above begin from the date WA White Goods initiates the refund. The actual time for funds to appear in your account depends on your bank or payment provider's processing schedule. Card refunds in particular can take up to 7 business days to appear on your statement even after we have submitted the refund — this is normal and is outside our control.
Partial Refunds
In some circumstances, a partial refund may be appropriate — for example, where only one item in a multi-item order is being returned, or where a partial remedy is agreed. Partial refunds are processed using the same method and timeline as full refunds. The refunded amount and the reason for the partial refund will be communicated to you clearly in writing.
Refund Confirmation
When a refund is initiated by WA White Goods, we will send you an email confirming the refund amount, the payment method to which it has been returned, and the estimated processing timeframe. If you have not received your refund within the timeframe indicated, please first check with your bank, then contact us at [email protected] with your order number.
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
A chargeback occurs when a cardholder requests their bank or card issuer to reverse a transaction. Chargebacks are governed by the payment network rules of Visa, Mastercard, and American Express and are a consumer protection mechanism. While we fully support the legitimate use of chargebacks, we ask that customers contact us first before initiating a chargeback, as most payment disputes can be resolved faster and more effectively through direct communication.
Please Contact Us Before Initiating a Chargeback
Before contacting your bank to dispute a charge, we strongly encourage you to contact our team first. In many cases, a refund, replacement, or other resolution can be arranged much faster through us than through the chargeback process, which can take 45–120 days to resolve through the card network.
Contact us at [email protected] or +61 424 260 450 and we will work with you to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.
Legitimate Chargeback Circumstances
- You did not authorise the transaction and believe your card was used fraudulently.
- You were charged an incorrect amount that differs from what was agreed at checkout.
- You were charged twice for the same transaction.
- You have genuinely not received the goods and we have been unable to provide evidence of delivery or resolve the issue.
Chargeback Abuse
Initiating a chargeback for goods that have been legitimately delivered and match their description — or as an alternative to our returns process — is considered chargeback abuse (also known as "friendly fraud") and is taken seriously. In cases of suspected chargeback abuse, WA White Goods will:
- Provide the relevant card network with all available evidence, including order confirmations, delivery records, photographs, and communications, to contest the chargeback.
- Reserve the right to refuse future orders from customers who have initiated unsubstantiated chargebacks.
- Pursue recovery of any chargeback-related losses through appropriate legal channels where necessary.
Chargeback Fees: When a chargeback is initiated, payment networks charge the merchant (WA White Goods) a chargeback processing fee, regardless of the outcome. In cases where a chargeback is determined to be unsubstantiated or made in bad faith, WA White Goods reserves the right to seek recovery of these fees through appropriate means.
Privacy & Payment Data
The handling of your personal and payment information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This section summarises the key privacy considerations specifically relating to payment data.

- The last four digits of the card used (for identification and reconciliation purposes only).
- The transaction reference number and payment status provided by our payment gateway.

- Full card numbers (all 16 or 15 digits).
- Card CVV or CID security codes.
- Card PINs or online banking passwords.

How Payment Data Is Used
- To process and confirm your payment and fulfil your order.

- To detect and prevent fraudulent transactions.
- To process refunds to your original payment method where applicable.
- To comply with our legal obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth) and other applicable legislation.
Third-Party Payment Processors: Your card and payment data is processed by our third-party payment gateway provider, which operates independently and under its own PCI DSS compliance framework and privacy policy. By making a payment on our website, you also agree to the payment gateway provider's terms. WA White Goods selects payment gateway partners that adhere to the highest security and privacy standards. For full details, please read our Privacy Policy.
Your Privacy Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request corrections to inaccurate information, and to lodge a complaint if you believe your privacy rights have been breached. To exercise these rights or for any privacy-related enquiries, please contact us at [email protected].
Your ACL Payment Rights
The Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) provides you with important rights in relation to payments made to businesses operating in Australia. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by any business, including WA White Goods.
Key ACL Rights Relating to Payments
- Right to a refund for major failures: If a product has a major fault, is not as described, or is not fit for purpose, you are entitled to a full refund — including the full amount you paid, regardless of our standard refund policy conditions.
- Right to accurate pricing: Under ACL, businesses must not engage in misleading or deceptive conduct regarding pricing. The price you are charged must match the price that was displayed and agreed at checkout.
- Right against excessive surcharges: Businesses are prohibited from charging payment surcharges that exceed the actual cost of accepting the payment method (as enforced by the ACCC). WA White Goods charges zero surcharges, in full compliance with this regulation.
- Right to GST-inclusive pricing: Under Australian law, all prices advertised to consumers must include GST. WA White Goods displays all prices inclusive of GST in compliance with this requirement.
- Right to a valid tax invoice: As a GST-registered business, we are required by law to provide a valid tax invoice for all taxable sales. You are entitled to receive and request a copy of your tax invoice at any time.
Unlawful Payment Practices We Do Not Engage In
In full compliance with the Australian Consumer Law and related regulations, WA White Goods confirms that we do not:
- Charge excessive payment surcharges above the cost of accepting a payment method.
- Advertise prices that exclude mandatory charges such as GST.
- Engage in drip pricing — the practice of adding previously undisclosed charges during the checkout process.
- Refuse to provide a refund in circumstances where one is owed under the ACL.
- Engage in unconscionable conduct in relation to payment collection or debt recovery.
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage arising from our failure to comply with a consumer guarantee. For full information on your ACL rights, please visit the ACCC at www.accc.gov.au or Consumer Protection WA at www.commerce.wa.gov.au/consumer-protection.
